Assignment 3: Interactive 3D

Create an interactive 3D software (based on XNA, for instance) that allows the use to fly through our solar system including textured planets, the Earth's moon and Saturn's ring. Shrink the distances of the solar system and shrink the time scale of its motion so that the travel gets more interesting.

Here are some ideas if you aim at four points:

Create asteroids. Use graphical effects and stereo or 3D sound to accentuate collisions with asteroids.
Create a cockpit with instruments such as radar and odometer that actually work.
Create something completely different such as a virtual replica of a steam engine in action or an animated 3D diagram of live data collected from the Web. (But contact me before!)
